This week, former Ultimate Fighting Championship lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos announced his intention to move up 15 pounds to welterweight, joining Donald Cerrone, who he thrashed in 66 seconds in a title defense 13 months ago.
RDA is in a pretty bad situation. He lost his belt, and he has no real chance to have a shot at McGregor. Seems like a sound move to cut less weight and go to WW. But... but if debuts with a loss, then he will be in an even worse situation.
I agree. This may break his career if he gets defeated at his debut fight at WW. On the otherhand, this move up may actually help him if he's comfortable with the weight.
I think this is a great move for Rafael.
I can't wait to see how this will turn out!
